Why Colour?
How often have you bought something with a little doubt niggling at you, but managed to convince yourself it looks good while in the shop….You got it home, felt disappointed and left it hanging at the back of your wardrobe? Sometimes we wear these items to justify our decision, but it just “doesn’t feel right”.
We have all done it and then feel uncomfortable and annoyed with ourselves for making a mistake. I guarantee you this will not happen to you again if you use your newfound skills.
If you are feeling confident because you know you look good and are comfortable with your presentation, that message will be communicated.
Your clothing will not be noticed, but YOU will be.
If you appear uncomfortable with yourself and lacking confidence, that message will most definitely also come across.
If you are dressed in a colour or style which is not your most flattering, remember that the clothing will be noticed way before you are……
Most of us know instinctively which colours look good on us….. but having a true understanding of “why” opens up a vast number of opportunities and options. In developing this interest, I have learned about the psychology of colour and for some years have used my knowledge of this in the colours that surround me. Almost invariably, clients comment on the colours of my office and how good it looks - I have yellow walls which encourage communication and a blue wall behind my desk facing the clients…blue inspires confidence, trust and decision making.
Once you know what is the very best for you, there will be no lack of confidence and you won’t be encouraged by salespeople to make purchases that won’t work.
