Reaffirmation Reaffirmation (also known as Renewal of Vows) ceremonies most often take place for one of the following reasons: to celebrate a significant wedding anniversary (anything from 5 years to 50 or 60 years) to share a celebration of Marriage with guests who were not at the original ceremony eg if a couple marries overseas, it is wonderful to have another ceremony with their friends and family back home To mark a significant wedding anniversary, I work with you to create a ceremony to celebrate your years together. A booklet is provided with wording for you to select from, or just to use as a starting point.

At the ceremony we spend a little time reflecting on your history, revisit the important events along the way eg birth of your children, relocation of your home – in fact anything that has helped shape your lives together.

If you wish to exchange a gift to mark the occasion, I make sure that is incorporated as part of the ceremony. Sometimes an eternity ring is presented or anything which you feel is appropriate. It is great to include your children as part of the celebration if appropriate. Think about gathering the original wedding party if that is possible.

Venue

Depending on whether you are having an intimate celebration with just the two of you, a close family gathering, or a big party with all your friends, I can help you with various suggestions for a venue. It might be at your home, at a spot which has become your ‘special place’, a restaurant or a garden party.

Certificate

To mark the event I will prepare a Certificate which shows your original marriage date, place etc and then gives details of this celebration. As with your original Certificate of Marriage, there is space for your signatures, your witnesses and mine as officiant.
I will also give you a booklet containing the ceremony as a keepsake – you will probably be surprised how overwhelming the event is, and might have difficulty in remembering exactly what took place!

Professional Fee

My fee is an all-inclusive cost, so that when we begin the planning, you will know exactly what to expect, without any nasty surprises. I ask for a deposit to confirm your booking and hold the space in my diary, with the remainder due during the month prior to your ceremony.
